Poultry/Small Animal Swap Meet - TSC Georgetown KY 9/18/10

No problem. DH said sure bring them on over. I will make sure that I have the garage cleaned out (removing the two travel coops) and have room for your little darlings near the shelves so I can click the heat lamp on them. They can hang out with my ducks and wonder why they have such funny looking faces.

If you DH does not like Motel 6 or the Days Inn, there are tons of them at Exit # 126 which is Darby St. Cannot wait to meet you both and Sarah and family too. YAY

DH is looking at maps and plotting our course. We'll have a bundle of no less than 6 pages detailing every step of the way. He's scoping out the hotels, too. The perfect hotel will have internal room doors and easy access to and from the interstate. Food is less of a consideration with him, which is why I always pack a secret snack for Lori, just in case...

Yup, the chicks will be really freaked out, for sure! And not just because they'll be in a garage with 'monsters' that quack! The silkies and odds-n-ends will be less than a week old, and the lavender d'Uccles are at that stage where EVERYTHING is gonna eat them

Don't worry about cleaning out the garage. We'll have them in a rabbit cage that doesn't take up much room at all. I'm already teaching the big kids how to be nice to the little kids so they can all get along.

I'm really excited about this! Looking forward to meeting you both and your families!! and any other BYC peeps that show up, too!!

Quick thoughts, Sarah:

Do you have a guess on how many people are expected to show up?

Is anyone going to be selling / providing food & beverages?

Is there a bathroom nearby, or will there be a designated section of woods?

Will you need help setting anything up?

I'm looking into renting a porta john for the weekend. There is the Marathon literally two seconds up the road with 24/7 bathrooms.

As for food and such if the BYC folks wanna have a cook out that would be fine.

I'm working on compiling a list of the "i'm bringing" folks.........

Basically, we have a huge field that will be bush hogged and open for parking and putting up tent/canopy, tables and the like. We have water run to the field so that is not an issue for the animals or people!

Hey maybe we'll open the spout and have mud wrestling! We could sell tickets!!!!

Porta john sounds like a good idea. You'll have enough manure left behind as it is! And the marathon peeps probably don't want a ton of folks tramping through just to use the bathroom.

We won't be able to bring my grill.

It won't fit in the van, not without a lot of cussing...

Good idea on the list. How's that coming along?

We'll bring something, as soon as you know what you have and what you'll need.
Speaking of which, make sure you have some trashcans available...

No comment on the mud-wrestling... The kids might enjoy it but the parents... not so much!

WE have a grill - very good size one DH is an expert with it!

If you're not fond of mud wrestling, is Jell-o more your thing. As long as we don't get raisin flavored, anyway!

No really into contact sports. I'm more of a read-a-book-in-the-sunshine kind of gal. Without raisins, of course. I plan to look like a raisin someday, does that count?

Let me check the freezer. We can probably bring some burger up...
