Not sure what I will have on cochin pairs....maybe a black pair....turns out both whites and 2 of the blacks, plus the partridge...are all BOYS grrrrr.....Need to rethink my sale plan, LOL.

They were a midmay shipment from Metzers.....so should be right at 8 weeks around the swap. So, 7 weeks now? Something like that.

I have 2 chocolate, 2 black, 2 blue, 2 fawn/white. I might keep the fawn/white. Maybe. They are very pretty.

One of the blacks has something wrong with a leg. Not sure if an injury or niacin deficiency or what. I have her separated. If a duck savvy person were to buy the others, I would give them her if they would take and "treat" her. I started adding brewers yeast to her water today and stuck one of the others in there so she would have a buddy. She was fine before and just started limping badly and struggling to walk. I separated her so she would not aggravate it while trying to follow her "buddies" around the yard.

Here they were a few weeks ago.

They spend the day out in my 1/2 acre yard with a bazillion chickens......have a kiddie pool, etc. All ordered as sexed female. I also have Welsh Harlequin (1 boy, 3 girls supposedly) which I am keeping....so you'll see those in the picture above. Ignore them

I am not bringing any ducks "just in case they sell"...they would have to be "bought" in advance (or at least promised to be bought). That drive with those quackers might just kill me LOL

OMG those blues are so pretty...I could get away with a harlequin girl because I have 2 GWH girls already but have 4 drakes. I understand travel with ducks...I moved my 11 from Oregon to KY back in the end of March. Holy Cow what a trip that was...them and 19 chickens, three snowstorms and well nevermind...

LOL...I've never had ducks before. Got these 12 in May. Have been thoroughly disappointed. I am used to my constantly-under-my-feet chickens....these ducks want nothing to do with me and freak out if I am nearby. Definitely became more work than enjoyment. So off they go...I am hoping the Welsh Harlequin will be calmer without the flighty runners. They have all at least figured out that I am the food provider.....but I wanted friendly follow me around ducks. Maybe I will try with a pair of pekins next year....or magpies.....

NellaBean..is not the breed it is the number. When you have a large group they bond to each other and they look to you only for food. My Harlequins and my Ancona are the same way ... when you have smaller numbers they are usually friendlier. Once your runners are gone your Harlequins will be easier to get hands on with.

I have 11 ducks and they are the same way....
