Poultry tax number??

Our co op has things thing for so much back from purchases on feed, but the govt taxes the amount we get back, and if I claimed as a business, I would have to pay taxes on the income too. Use it if you can! Google can be your best friend in info searches.

In Ohio we have something called the CAUV-Current Agricultural Use Value assessment. You must own 10 acres or more and been in agricultural use for 3 years with at least $2500 from sales of agricultural items per year to qualify. I believe 5 acres of very productive sales may qualify per permission only. The property taxes not paid because of CAUV exemption will pass on to the new owner when the property is sold. Sometimes this hinders a sale of property because the burden of all previous CAUV exempted taxes fall on the new owner.

I'm not clear if this is what this discussion has been about or if simply another sales tax exempt program.
