That is good to know.  I am not familiar with chickens at all so have no idea.  I was always getting confused between the 2 sexes since I have noticed the comb and wattle things on both.  but if the male has more there plus more coloring I should be able to tell.  Thanks for putting up the example of the 2 genders.

Haha yeah no problem! You'll catch on! It can still be confusing at times but after awhile it's not to difficult to tell them apart.

Haha.  The girl gooses don't like your sibs.  I could tell totally how much Assyra loved the camera.  Not shy about it or anything for that matter.  If I were your sister and they both came running after me like  that I'd run screaming too.  They can be kinda scary.  I am glad you love them the best.  And you said the word.  SOFT.  I love that birds are soft.  Makes me wanna love squeeze and kiss them even more.

I cannot believe he can live til 60.  That is cool.  It is a commitment for sure.  Will you keep him for the rest of his life?  Is his diet more in line with facilitating his growth?  6 more years to go sounds like he could be along the same level as humans.  does he go outside?

Maxwell is gorgeous.  Just like your scovy boys.  They have such fun personalities, those two boys.  Are they still antsy to breed?

Yeah photo time is her favorite! XD Haha I guess so I just don't see it that way because I raised them they don't frighten me and they don't attack me.Yes they are very soft that goose down is like nothing else I love to pet them and give them kisses because of it!!!!

Yes it is definitely a commitment, yes I'll keep him for as long as he lives I would never get rid of him.If I don't give him the right nutrition he needs his growth will slow or be stunted.I hope I only slowed it and didn't stunt it.Yeah his growth is a lot like a humans! His cage is on my coop porch being its summer and he can keep warm it has to be pretty warm outside being he is a cold blooded animal. He isn't let out though because he will try and run away and believe it or not he can run extremely fast!

Thank you I think so to! Yes they do! They've calmed down quite a bit due to the heat! :clap

Yay, it's the softness of the geese that makes you give them loves. I am glad you are gonna keep him forever. Animals are a commitment no matter how long you have them. But they are part of the family so it is all worth it tremendously.

I find the cold blooded animal thing interesting. I have always wondered why they are that way. I see rattle snakes out in the desert area where I hike in the dead summer but never other times of year. I guess they hibernate or something. They don't bug me and I give me a wide berth anytime I see them or any snake for that matter. I can't always tell one from another. But they do not gross me out like they do other people. I'd rather come across one than a praying mantis any day.

Our heat has not let up. It is scary and I do not know when it is gonna cool down.

How do your birds deal with the heat?

Thanks. I see that are gazillions of breeds of chicken on here and it is amazing people know what they are breed wise. I like the silkie ones that are fully feathered head to toe. The 'what is this chicken saying' is a fun thread. Some people come up with some hilarious quotes.
