My chickens seem to have white stuff on their combs, I saw it on one so I checked them all and it was on all of them. I got the best pictures I could. My hens don’t seem to be acting weird but is this something I need to treat? My flock did have scales leg mites recently if that’s related, and should I be concerned because it’s about to get colder here will this make them more sensitive?

Our girls combs looked similar to that. Extremely dry air here with low humidity and low dew points which seems to increase the dryness.
I applied a light amount of mineral oil to their combs to provide some moisture. This reddened them right back up and the dryness and whiteness went away. I'm not suggesting you do this and I don't know if mineral oil is an ok thing to put on combs but that's what I did. The chickens are fine.

I’ll def eyelet look into putting something moisturizing on their cones, I have coconut oil on hand I might use, thanks good to know it’s not as bad as I first thought!
