I don't know if I hold the record (probably not), but I had 6 La Flèche eggs in my incubator and the lead got pulled out....day 7, I think. The lead must have been out between 12 and 24 hours as the eggs were in a room rarely used and only two visits there in the previous day.

The eggs felt stone cold with daytime temperatures in the low 60's and overnight under 50.

Dead, all dead,I thought, but switched the incubator back on as there was nothing to lose. 2 days later I candled the eggs and found 5/6 live embryos.....went on to hatch 5 live chicks who are now healthy 12 week olds.

Don't give up on the eggs yet, especially if they were in the early stages of the incubation process.

Good Luck.

I wonder what day your on when this all happened, I had my power go off during LOCKDOWN, talk about a stressful day it had been off for 2 hours before I realized it because we were all sound asleep. Thank god, I had a bantam that just went broody and hatched them all out for me. WHew

Hey, I had the power go out on me for 2days with my incubator. I boiled water and put the hot boiling water in canning jars and replaced the water every 3-5hours and kept it steady at 100 degrees and had a 80% hatch rate! But now I have a mini generator to run it if it goes out

I haven't give up.

Yesterday 3:12 pmReally better to just open the incubator an let the eggs cool assuming it is not hatch time. If its less than 24 hours cold you should still get a pretty good hatch.

Rebelcowboysnb, your post intrigues me, why is it better to let the eggs cool off?
