power outage I'm on day 3

The power just came back on. The bator got down to around 90 degrees. I wrapped it up in towels and a fleece jacket trying to keep the heat in. The temp is back up already. I just hope it didn't hurt them for the temp to drop that low for a couple hours.

We lost power this morning also for a couple of hours. I am in Georgia too. My incubator went down to 88 degrees. I also covered it with a comforter. I am on day 10. On day 4 I lost power when we had those tornado warnings, on Monday. My power was out for several hours and the incubator temperature got to 82 degrees. Out of the 14 eggs I had in there 11 were still doing great. I think we will be ok.

That makes me feel alot better about mine! 11 out of 14 isn't bad at all. This is my second hatch and I am just as nervous about this one as the first! How far away are you? I am in Waycross.

A hen will get off her nest 30 minutes up to a couple hours in some cases. If you were to have a humidity or temperature change, always better for it to be on the low side.

I am and have always been a worry wart!!! LOL!!! I panicked a little when I saw the temp dropping! But when the power came back on it came back up really fast! I am really thankful that the power didn't stay off anymore than a couple hours.

I don't think I have ever been there! I do have family up in areas around Atlanta though. The storm is almost gone according to the radar! YAY!!!! I am so ready for some sun!

Me too. I can't wait for spring. Its going to be cold at night for the next few days.
