Last night a driver hit a telephone pole and put the power out,..and it was in the 20's outside. We live in a raised house that's built to stay cool in the hot LA. summers,. so the house, and the incubator, cooled quickly. We put the incubator by the fire place,. but the temp kept dropping so DH & DD wrapped the eggs in a foil package and put them under the heater in the truck and hauled boody to my MIL's house 20 minutes away,. by the time they got the bator going and the eggs back in it was only 87 degrees in the bator and took about another 15 minutes to get it up to proper temp. After the power came back on 3 hours later,. they had to bring the eggs home the same way but at least they were very warm when they left and got here with the thermometer reading 95 and I had it up to temp in minutes. Hatch day is the 19th. this is the first time this has ever happened to us.
