Power Outtage while incubating. Is there any hope?

With as many times as I've seen this question asked (I searched it the day before yesterday cuz' my power went out, too) I think this info should be stickied. It really helped me out a lot. Not to mention I've seen the same great advice in many of the threads asking about power outages.

The thingy to plug/hook the car into is called an inverter. I keep an inverter handy and taught the wife how to hook it up if the power goes out when I am gone. Works great.
