PPBA Show in Stockton, CA in January?

I'll take if you want.

I love my Davis birds, but they are getting pretty old.

Please don't say that too loud! My cuckoos are about 7 now and still lay great! I don't want them to hear and give up!!

Well that makes me feel better. Mine are 3. They went through the worse moult I've ever seen and haven't started back up. I don't have lights out though either, so I'm hoping with a restful winter, they'll come back even stronger this spring.

BTW there is a thread out there. I think it says "What do you want to get rid of?" and it's for trading and buying. Can't find the link, but if I don't drop after the party tomorrow.............today! I'll try and look for it and put the link in here.

Oops! I actually came in to say I may not be making the show. Have to see what happens after the machanics give me the verdict on work for my car. I hate thinking I might miss this.

Looked over black copper marans flock again, looks like I need to downsize more.

1-6 month roo
1-1 year old hen
1-6 month hen, should lay anyday now
3-pullets, 4 months, promising conformation

I think I posted this before... but does anyone know of someone coming from Ohio who could ferry some chicks from north of Dayton?
I suspect the judges are the only ones coming that far, and they probably get to fly. But if I don't ask....

Does anyone have coturnix eggs/chicks/adults they'd be willing to sell & could bring to the show? I'd rather pick some up from a local breeder than have them shipped. Thank you.

Hi Friends. I just wanted to mention a couple of items. My appologies you were having difficulty accessing show information. Please do not feel bad, as I am a member of the PBBA, and I didnt get an entry in the mail or via email!!!! Argggh. I finally was able to get another club member to send me a link (Thank You Chris T!) and they were down at the show in Hollister!

Here it is: https://sites.google.com/site/pacificpoultrybreedersassn/

Entries
must be postmarked by TOMORROW, Monday 1/10/2011

You do need to be a club member to secure space in a sales pen, however memberships are only $10, and sales pens are $10 each. Information on the Sales Pens is included in the premium list at the above link, there is a space on the entry form for membership and for sales pens space.

Oh and if you are not exhibiting birds, but own Marans. Did you know there is an egg show for Marans at the Stockton show? The show is being sponsored by the Marans Chicken Club USA. The person you can mail your entry to is Sean Lail, 2808 Bonita Ave, Antioch, CA 94509. As I understand it anyone mailing eggs in, needs to have them received by Sean, no later than 1/27.

Previous egg shows I have been involved with charge around $5 per entry. The varieties are judged separately (Cuckoo, FBC, Blue, White, Black, Blue Copper, Wheaton, Salmon, etc.), and one entry is usually 3-6 eggs. At this time I have not been able to track down an egg entry form for this show, and the link on the MCCUSA website is gone, but hopefully, now that people are on their way home from the show in Hollister, one will be forthcoming, and I will post it here. Even if you do not have birds to show, if your hens are laying, I encourrage you to enter the egg show.

There are two national Marans clubs, and both are dedicated to getting this breed accepted as a Standardized breed. The MCCUSA is sponsoring a breed meet in Stockton, so there should be a decent size of entries if you are a fan of the Marans breed.

I will be entering one French Black Copper pullet, and several White Marans, and perhaps a Blue or two. I also have Black Australorps, Ameraucanas, Wyandottes and Dark Brahma Bantams to exhibit, a few to sell.

Anyone wanting to connect and talk chickens, can email or text me at 209.480.6347--

Well by golly, I must have missed it! Thank you so much. I met her last year at the show and she's a really nice lady.

I'll have a Penedesenca cockerel that will be around 5 1/2 weeks old by the time of the show, if anybody is interested he's up for grabs! He came out of a decent egg color, about a 6 on the Marans chart if you use that for reference.

Also, does anyone have a chick, of any breed, that they're looking to rehome now? I'd prefer a pullet obviously, around the same age 4 to 6 weeks.
