I'll be there, as usual! Might be wanting to rehome my OEGBs if anyone is interested. I have 3 blue-breasted red hens, a blue-breasted red cockeral and a black-breasted red cockeral.

Also, Wolftracks, you and I are neighbors! I live in Ceres, and Im assuming the feed store you're talking about is JS West? I've known the manager, Heather, for my entire life and she's a close friend of my family.

My Davis flock is dwindling, so they'll be top priority this year. I usually get 5-8s but I got a couple of 9s and wow. Birds are getting so old now, I'm worried about getting anything out of them. Once they start laying again, I'm sticking everything into the Sportman and see what I get.

I do have some others that are Prestley/Fox/valentine lines. I'm not sure exactly what I have yet that will work, but they are the mellowest of all my birds.

I have Lav and Silver AMs ordered, but I'd like to find some older birds for breeding while the chicks grow. I'm especially looking for more blues right now. I'd like to at least get 2-3 hens.

I'm concidering entering one of my BCMs and a Fav pullets. That's still pretty iffy though. And like I said before I've only shown fur babies that walk on a leash, so this is new for me. Don't have any idea what to do with showing a chicken.

Wolftrack, I will be having some chicks in about a month, if you are interested, let me know. They are Presley Cottage Hill lines. I don't mix my Jeans, Davis or Presley, I believe each breeder line is unique in one way. I have tried complimenting the different breeder lines but it turns out totally the opposite of what I expect. My Davis has the best conformation, the Jeans have the darkest eggs, and the Presley is something in between.

I moved out here to Ceres. I'm just over the over pass of Hatch. Don't be scared though. LOL.

I do go to JS West and Heather has always been so nice.

My feedstore though is Jesse's. I love that family! Very helpful, pleasant and very nice. Always willing to find what I need and if I ask about something they don't know about we all look it up and share info. What's really funny though is the daughter. She's afraid of chickens. The dad raises them and they have like 85 acres and she's afraid of the chickens. LOL

I have some chicks that I hatched out that were the mixed lines. I keep my Davis birds separate, but they are slowly dwindling. My husband bought and older flock for me from a BYCer and I really want to get some chicks out of them soon. I'm going to breed and save as many as I can. I really need to find some cheap property. I don't care if I have to live in a tent! Something cheap and hopefully closer to Dixon, but someplace warmer would be nice right about now.

great suppliers there.... I bought an oil (basically rosemary etc. in a veggie oil base.... I later made my own in olive oil) to rub on combs, wattles, & legs. It looks good, & protects them a little.
water dishes from suppliers there as well.. they put paper cups in cages but some birds knock them off the little holders
food (actually, King feed is provided)
apple cider vinegar to put in water (if they're already used to it) so they won't know it's not home water (or bring home water), in case they're fussy drinkers.
ear plugs ..... it is noisy in there!

basically, birds in boxes, and money

Sheryl Butler and Dottie, both great showers/breeders (Sheryl having won shows and natls with her bantam cochins) will be coming with stock for sale. Keep an eye out for them, both are top notch breeders. Sheryl will also be bringing some hatching eggs from her Black Copper marans. I can attest to their quality (I think they are wade/davis lines, or maybe all davis) and the eggs are DARK even at the end of the season. I was visiting her got a day and asked her if she could bring eggs since you guys seemed interested in good marans. She has VERY nice ones.

Hopefully Sheryl will get on here with a list of what cochin/silkie stock she might have available for p/u at the show within a week.
