PPBA Show in Stockton, CA in January?

I'd say it most definitely is. It's a very fun show to attend, regardless of whether you're planning on buying birds or not. It's amazing seeing all of the different breeds and talking to fellow chicken people! I think you should come along and have fun.

Oh, and Saturday is THE day to be there! Morning seems to be the most active part of the day, too.

My Davis flock is dwindling, so they'll be top priority this year. I usually get 5-8s but I got a couple of 9s and wow. Birds are getting so old now, I'm worried about getting anything out of them. Once they start laying again, I'm sticking everything into the Sportman and see what I get.

I do have some others that are Prestley/Fox/valentine lines. I'm not sure exactly what I have yet that will work, but they are the mellowest of all my birds.

I have Lav and Silver AMs ordered, but I'd like to find some older birds for breeding while the chicks grow. I'm especially looking for more blues right now. I'd like to at least get 2-3 hens.

I'm concidering entering one of my BCMs and a Fav pullets. That's still pretty iffy though. And like I said before I've only shown fur babies that walk on a leash, so this is new for me. Don't have any idea what to do with showing a chicken.

I encourage both of of you to show your birds. After all, what do you have to lose? It would be fun to try out!

Cheryl, are you still collecting feed bags for making tote bags out of? Because I have several empty bags of Scratch and Flock Raiser and I can bring them along for you if you can use them!

YES the bags would be great, I've not been concentrating on that very much but still collecting bags. Rob and I were bouncing the idea around of sharing a table so maybe I'll try to get some made for selling there. Of course discounts to all that give me bags!!!

Showing sounds so complicated. Have to put them in a special pen etc...I'm out of town for a week starting this saturday

I know just like with showing dogs there is an owner and then a HANDLER! Anyone want to be my handler?

Awesome, I will bring them along for you! I think I have around three or four of each, I'll probably have even more by the time the show rolls around.

Sharing a table with Rob/the BYC table sounds like a great plan!

Good luck figuring out whether you're going to show or not. PM some show people and gather pointers from them.

I would offer to be your handler but I have no idea what it entails, haha! (If it involves walking chickens on leashes, count me in, though!

Just kidding, just kidding, that would just be silly.)
