PPBA Show in Stockton, CA in January?

Hi to all,
Getting so excited for the weekend!
ya.gif
and yes, everyone plan on extra time for the drive. I live outside of Lodi in the foothills and the fog has been terrible every night and hangs on for most of the day. Yesterday it partially cleared around 2:00 pm so we had "almost" sun for maybe two hours.

I'll be glad to see you again Kelsey! I'm happy you'll be joining the BYC PPBA party!

The more the merrier, of course!

Gosh, I'm soooo excited! I have to get my car all cleaned out today, it's a total mess right now! I guess that's what I get for driving around wild swans and wild ducks all over the place recently. Gotta get some cages ready to bring birds home in, and make a final decision about bringing birds to the show or not.

I just got my new laptop in the mail last night so I'm going to have to tear myself away from it to clean my car and get ready for the show, not just lurk on this thread until the very end.

Hello All, I just recieved word todaty that the PPBA show is up to 2400 bird entries! Wow, thanks for the update Walt. This is going to be another great show. We all excited to be a part of it.

I wanted to let everyone know that that the Marans Chicken Club of USA is going to be holding an egg show and I wanted to invite everyone to come by our table and look at all the egg show entries. Don't forget to cast for ballot for the peoples choice ribbon too. We will also have an egg auction. Below is a time-line of key MCCUSA and PPBA events for everyone to preview. It's certainly is going to be a busy day for everyone so if I don't report the egg show and bird entry results by Sunday afternoon it's because either I'm sleeping or recouping from the banquet

Hello All,

I wanted to remind each of you that Pacific Poultry Breeders Association (PPBA) will be holding its 64th annual poultry show on 1/29 – 1/30. This has always been a great show.

We will be having an egg show at the event so get your egg show entry forms ready and start selecting your best eggs! This is the MCCUSA’s Western Regional meet which makes it even more special. In addition to the egg show we’ll be holding a club regional meeting to discuss current events and on-going club activities. Of course, the hot topic is the upcoming Newnan show where we will make a valiant effort in gaining APA recognition for our Marans.

Again the PPBA show promises to be a great show and is touted as the grand daddy of all west coast shows. Last count we were up to about 12 BCM entries, 2 which Marans entries and a few other varieties sprinkled in. We’d like to get a count of Marans entries. If you plan on attending the PPBA show and entering your Marans please let me know.

Please send your egg show entries to Sean Lail at 2808 Bonita Ave. , Antioch , CA 94509 prior to January 27th. We encourage Marans fanciers to attend and participate in the egg show and bird show. Please visit the MCCUSA club website at maransusa.org for more information and entry forms. You may also contact me, your MCCUSA Western Regional Director Pete Ovalle at 707-718-3940 or via e-mail at [email protected], if you have any questions. Come join the fun!

Kind Regards,

Hey Everyone!! It's been quite a while since I have been on BYC (except for occasional lurking when time permitted), but it looks like I'll be able to head down to the show on Saturday after all!! Last year's show was my first chicken show, too, and it was such an incredible experience! It was really fun to be able to put faces to names when we all met at the BYC table. Since there's no table this year, we're meeting by the raffle/food area at Noon on Saturday? Did I get that right? I'll go back through and double check this thread after the sun goes down. Too much to do when the weather is nice outside right now.

I don't know if anyone is interested in some little pet quality bantam Cochins, but I have a couple left from last year's late babies. They are all feathered out, but still peep. There is a young cockerel heading the group who would love a home, too!! PM me if you are interested or if you know of anyone looking for a really nicely bred black and tan longhair miniature Dachshund pup or two.

LOL!!

Wolftracks, I just sent you my number to add to the list.

Cheryl, I will add your friend to my list of folks that are constantly in my thoughts while they fight their battle with cancer. You and her family are in my thoughts as well since it is a rough thing to go through with someone and often the support system of the patient seems to be forgotten.

Everyone travel safe this weekend and I am looking forward to meeting more of you this year! It's going to be a fun show and a great day

Waiting to put the list together and for the machanic to call

Whatever happens with the car is the deciding factor of my going or not.

Not sure if I'll be going to tne banquet. Lots of places to eat out there. Does anyone have any idea of costs of banquet or other foods available? Just thought it would be nice if we had an idea.

Well even if I don't get to go, everyone think about me. Better yet, Harmony Oaks has a couple of birds I want. I'll take those as a souvenier. If that actually worked I'd never go.
