Practical Uses for Button Quail?

I think the pet food(reptiles) idea is a good one. I think it creates a market for them if you plan to sell any. Then there is the pet bird market too. I agree though, not everyone could make a go selling them enough for them to pay for themselves.

It's one thing to use the ones that don't make it anyway.

I have a better idea. Lop the head off the snake...

Well, okay, not really...

I've heard that one, too.

It's nice to be around folks who are good natured. I don't pick on you guys (too much) for eating your quail (ok, maybe a side comment once in a while, but nothing too aggressive) and you guys don't pick on me for eating carrots and taters. I'll leave the tofu for the vegans, though.

JJMR794, in regards to post #49, we'll have to agree to disagree. If your neighbour 60 miles down the road can't find a market for buttons he isn't looking hard enough. You live in a country with over 300 million people. The state of Florida has over 18 million people alone. That's more than half of the population of all of Canada. It takes less than 6 hours to drive from Pensacola to Jacksonville or from Jacksonvile to Miami. In Canada we have more land area and one tenth of the population of the US. It can be an 8 hour drive or more between major cities here. You do what you have to do to sell your stock, be it buttons, beef or barley, even if that means trucking em to the next major center. If my family had thought your way, we'd all still be in Eastern Block Europe. I come from a long line of farmers & mercenaries. You do what ya gotta do to put food on the table.

And Rozzie, feel free to give me your share of the tofu. I'm not a vegetarian, but I love tofu and my birds go crazy for it too.
