Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy some prairie chickens? I dont even know if its legal to sell or buy, but I thought it would be neat to have.
    Any info would be great!
    Thanks

I am pretty sure they are a wild bird and thus protected.

you need the same permits for them as you do for ringneck pheasants and bobwhite quail. they're considered a game (hunting) bird.

there's a guy from neligh nebraska who lists some from time to time on eggbid. they'll be under the grouse and partridge section.

They are pretty expensive. $600 and up for a bird.
