we will keep you and your baby girl in our prayers nothing makes a parent feel more helpless than a sick or injured child

My youngest daughters was bit when she was about that age although not in the face thankfully or it would have been much worse, for some reason the dog went for her leg even though his face was at eye level to her. Tore her calf up terrible, but it healed beautifully w/miminal scarring. I was afraid it would make her fearful of dogs, but she loves them all. I think as far as the emotional healing it's a combination of how the adults handle it as well as the childs constitution.

and prayers for a speedy recovery for you all.

Prayers are sent, more to come. I know what you mean about the calls and visits. Put a message on the answering machine that says that she is recovering well, that she has stitches and no infection as of now. Add that "we appreciate the calls and concern but are resting and will update the message as soon as we can" then put a sign on the door that says "thanks for coming to check on little Sally, she is resting now and will have visitors again when she is up to it." Don't answer either until you have rested and she is feeling better. Also, skip the sleeping meds, you need to be clear headed for her. The sleep will come when you are tired enough or she is well enough for you to relax. Sleep, quiet, and relaxation wishes for you and your little one.
