Hi, My Mom passed away peacefully last Wednesday.

We have now had to delay the funeral because of the snow. The highway to the cemetary is closed for who knows how long. I don't know when we will bury her. Both of her parents died in a snow storm ( in January) and we had to travel 600 miles to bury them in 4 feet of snow. They had to use heavy equipment to get to the cemetary. I don't think I've ever been so cold in my life at a funeral as I was at my Grandpas. It was 14. Degrees, freezing rain, which blowed through the tent and down our backs while a guitarist tried to play Amazing Grace. The guitar strings were so cold and the song was so off key. We were just miserable. We were stranded out of town for days until we could get back home.

We always joked with my Mom and told her that she was not allowed to die in January. We always joked that we would just put her in a cooler 'til spring. Well she showed us! She is in the cooler. She would be getting a laugh about this.

Today my wonderful Golden Retriever, Lacie, died too. She had a heart attack just like my Mom, and they both died in the kitchen. I have been so heartbroken, I just know Lacie is with my Momma and they are having a wonderful time in the beautiful gardens in Heaven.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your prayers and kind words. I appreciate them more than you know.

I am crying with you tonight. It is so overwhelming with all the deaths this past weekend. I am heart broken over all the loss of your loved one.

I am glad your mom has your dog. I wish you still had them both, though. I am so very sorry.
