Prayer request for one of our own (Some news pg. 13)

Hi all. I just got off of the phone with Roger and he is having a better morning today, than yesterday. Unfortunately, he knows that as the day progresses, then he will start to feeling worse.

He said that he was calling the Diagnostic Clinic in Houston as soon as he got off of the phone with me and make the arrangements to go over there. He is like all of us and worried about how well his animals will be taken care of while he is gone, should he be there for a little while. He does have his son that lives close by and his wife to take care of his chickens though.

I wll not give his weight, but he has lost 47 lbs. since all of this started, approx. a month ago. That is wayyyyy too much weight to be losing so fast.

I did tell him that everyone was praying for him and missed him and he said to tell all of you thank you and he will be back online whenever he gets to feeling better.

Tuffoldhen - Thanks for setting up the correspondence between Roger and Trollkiller.

Trollkiller - Thanks for sending Roger the information. He found it very interesting and informative. He just hopes that it doesn't take as long for the doctors to find out what he has and get it under control...lol

Thank you all.

Dorothy

Just wanted to let you all know that Roger has an appointment on Tuesday at the Diagnostic Center in Houston. Hopefully they will find out what is wrong right away.

I will let you all know whenever I find out.

That's good to hear. Hopefully they'll help him there. Thanks for keeping us updated, Dorothy. I'm still available to help if any help is needed. I'm about an hour and a half away, but let me know if I can do anything.

Paula

Thanks for the prayers.

Paula - I did tell Roger that we had someone that was willing and wanting to come and help him out, but he declined, of course. He said that he does have his son close by and his wife to help him out. He feels that he is doing good enough with the help that he has, right now.

I will post again, when I hear something.

No problem at all, I just hope I am able to help.

I just answered an email from Roger, he sounds like a great guy. Hopefully his trip to Houston will give him the answers he needs.

For all of you that have sent a PM to Roger: He was online for a little while tonight and last night. If he has not gotten to reply to anyone's PM, then he will get back to you as soon as possible. He was feeling pretty bad and had to go get onto the heating pad.

The following is what Roger had to say to me in a PM. I had asked if he had gotten to read any of this thread and told him that the caring people that are here on BYC have brought many tears to my eyes, to know that there is still so many good people left in this messed up world that we are living in.

No, I haven't read any of the thread, just haven't been up to it. But yes, there are some wonderful caring people on here like yourself. This has been my refuge from what I am dealing with. I come here to find peace and friendship.

Thanks to all of you for helping Roger find peace and friendship. I am glad that all of us could make his heart feel better, if not his body (physically).

May God Bless each and every one of you.

Thanks,
Dorothy

I just found this thread but I have a question. Sort of anyway. The doctors haven't figured out what the problem is yet correct? My aunt had a similar thing going on a few years ago. She could not eat at all, and if she did she couldn't keep it down. She lost a lot of weight which she didn't have to spare. She went from about 110 pounds to 75 or so in just a few months. They finally figured out what was causing her problem. They tested her for everything up until then. It was the muscles in her esophagus. They would spasm I suppose, and her esophagus was closed shut most of the time. Since the 'link' to her stomach was closed off, anything she ate would come back up since it had nowhere else to go. They did some kind of surgery on her to 'kill' the muscles and she is back to her normal skinny self.

I will keep Roger in my thoughts... hope he is better soon.

shelleyd2008 - Thanks. What is happening is when Roger eats, then shortly afterwards, his stomach hurts so bad that he can hardly stand it. He said that it is major pain. He also said that he just has no appetite at all. He has mentioned that he has thrown up also, but it is more pain and no appetite.

He has the appointment in Houston Tuesday and I pray that they find out what is wrong, fast!!! For a 6'3" tall man to lose 47 lbs. in approx. a month is not good at all.

I will let everyone know something as soon as I find out.

Thank,
Dorothy
