Prayer request for Sadie

After reading your post I have a tears in my eyes.
I will pray for this wonderful, beloved pet and guardian with all my heart.

Also - lets be thankful that she is alive and have no life threatening injury.
On a positive note, if the bone is not broken - all her 4 legs will hold her weight equally.
Most likely there will be a scar, but will get camouflaged in the fur.

Let this incident be a lesson and warning to all of us:
Many animals are following the owners when we leaving the house
or running towards when they hear us coming back.

My dogs, goats and even cats are doing exactly this!
I have to lock them up when I'm driving to the store or someplace....

Please keep us posted of her recovery and of course share with us her future stories.

Viva Great Pyrenees!

Awww thats wonderful she is in good hands! I will pray for her, and hope for good recovery and strength for the rest of her life and this leg will not give her any troubles at ALL!!!

Catherine did speak with the Vets today. Sadie is in some pain. Surgery went well. No broken bones and no cut tendons. We will go check on her in the morning, then finish the fence.

Keep us posted

From Catherine:
Well, Sadie is doing ok. The skin on her leg is not doing well. She may lose the skin. Also, her foot is very swollen as the artery is pumping blood to it, but the vein that should take the blood out of her foot is damaged and not healing as we hoped. Please keep praying. We love that little dog so much! She is a part of our family.

We visited her today and she was all over Catherine. Never seen a dog so happy to see anyone! Sadie's not a bad dog...for a mutt! At least that is what I call her. I call Buddy worse. His head is harder than a rock. Where does a 140# Anatolian Shepherd lay? Anywhere he wants! Sheba seems a bit lonely with Sadie gone.

We installed about half of the new T-posts today. Will install the others tomorrow. The area today is 80' x 190'. We will install the same on the other end of our home. The home is 72' long. The 180 attaches to the neighbors horse pasture fencing. So the dogs will have free range in a total of about 230' x 190'. We are installing double spring loaded hinges (saloon door hinges) in each paddock on 2'x2' plywood doors. These doors will hang from the top. They will act as doggie doors so the dogs can protect various paddocks without releasing birds from one breeding paddock to another.

We did miss not getting interrupted a thousand times yesterday while building fence. No knocks at the door wanting in.

Saturday afternoon the wife washed her van. She pulled it out back near the above ground pool. Sadie came over to inspect and help. As Catherine took the bug sponge up and down Sadie was right there going up and down. Catherine then layed the sponge on the bucket and turned for just a moment. I was watching from the poultry paddocks. Catherine turned around to get the sponge and it was GONE! She had this hocked look on her face. It was just there. First word out of her mouth was...SADIE! I pointed to behind the pool. Sadie was waiting, tail wagging and sponge in mouth!

A few weeks ago Catherine and the kids picked everything up in the yard. The next morning there were twice as many items in the yard. In her defense, Sadie knew where everything was. She had took hours placing everything where she wanted it. Plus standing guard helping her parents.

The other day we had this strange fellow park at the end of our driveway. He sat in his truck a while then slowly walked up our driveway and stopped by the carport. Sadie was on guard. She seemed to scare him because he dropped his box and went back to his truck. Sadie was very pleased! She had saved the farm from the FedEx man with our new egg cartons from www.eggcartons.com

She really dislikes this other fellow. Each afternoon he slowly drives down our road. His behaviour is very suspicious. He stops at every driveway, then drives to the next. Sadie knows he is up to no good. Even Buddy dislikes this fellow. One day he actually drove into our driveway and left a box under the carport! Sadie told him what she thought...from a safe distance near Buddy and Sheba. Very suspicious. Now if Sadie (and Buddy) could read they would see the US Mail on his door.
