Jake, you are in my prayers. Is there any one you know who lives near you who you can talk about this with? Father, I pray that you will send that person to Jake. That you will show yourself and your love to him in a specific, undeniable way, that you will lift him out of his depression. That you will continue to direct his path, and provide comfort, and help him to keep his eyes on you when life seems to be overwhelming. And all of God's people said, AMEN.

We are now facing the fact that my mom's dad might not be with us much longer.

He is not a believer and we all believe he is not going till he is a Christian! The doctors say he should not be alive yet here he is but we know why! If you feel led to pray that he would come to know the Lord!

TA: Father, God, we lift her grand father up to you, and pray that Your Spirit will speak to his heart. Draw him close to you. Send your people into his life, that they may tell him of the love of Jesus. I pray that what ever has kept him from seeking atonement for his sins until now, would be placed in perspective against the light of eternity. I pray that he will see that he has a choice to make TODAY: that he can choose an eternity with Jesus, or an eternity in utter and forever separation from God and all that is good. I pray that he will seek and embrace the truth. In the name of Jesus Christ, we all pray.

This one caught my eye this morning....

LEARNING FROM BETTER HORSEMEN

I’m to the point now in my horsemanship where I want to go to the next level! I want to advance my horses to be able to perform better. The problem is, I don’t have the knowledge to take them there. Because of this, I’m learning that I need to seek out guys that are better horseman than me and find the knowledge to take my horses further! If I don’t, my horses will probably digress rather than progress to the next level!

The same is true for us as Christians. When we try to do things in our own limited wisdom, we can only go so far. When we start thinking that we know what’s best for our lives, and we stop trusting in God, we get into some deep trouble!

Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” God is not saying to turn your brains off and become mindless robots. We are to use our intellect and common sense, but not depend on them alone. We must turn to God for more wisdom and rely on His understanding. We should pray and ask for wisdom in every aspect of life!

Listen to James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” This verse shows us that if we need more wisdom all we have to do is ask! We need to quit trying to lean on our own limited understanding of life, and seek the One with unlimited knowledge and understanding!

CHEW ON THIS
Do you try to do things in your own wisdom? Do you try to rely on your own understanding? What decisions are you facing right now that you need to ask God for more wisdom? Ask Him to help you seek His wisdom for every area of your life!

PRAYER
Lord, forgive me where I have tried to do things on my own. Give me wisdom that can only come from you. Thank you for giving your wisdom generously to us when we ask. It’s in your holy name I pray, Amen.


Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
