prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

The guys that I was talking to said that helium and hydrogen ( or something like that ) caused the Big Bang. Then me and the other guy I was with asked him where the helium and hydrogen came from but he didn't have an answer.
That's so dumb. It gets me so mad of how many people are missing out on the wonderful gospel. Good job for standing up for them, Jake.

Amazing choice of weapon, Jake! :D Science VS "Science."- fight fire with God's holy fire. Although to me it's still saddening they, and billions of other naive people, are convicted those lies are the truth and nothing else... :( Great job! :D

I sort of think it's possible to believe both, not necessarily evolution, but maybe God put the Big Bang/universe in place? Or made it some other way. But I mean, why not? It's kind of limiting God/putting Him in a box to say He couldn't have done it, He can do anything. And you know how there's that verse about God knowing us before we were even born, having plans for us, etc.? Well why couldn't God have plans for Earth/humanity too?

You guys would love this book...

The author is an atheist turned Christian investigative journalist. He interviews scientists from different backgrounds, like phycisists, genetic engineers, chemists, etc and asks them about how they've come to the conclusion of "intelligent design" by a Creator being the obvious inevitable truth. It's an awesome read, especially if you find yourself in a situation like Jake, in a debate over a Creator. Amazing how our universe, and planet, and chemical composition of everything is catered specifically for life. Our life. Not an accident or by chance at all. There's just no way possible all of this just "happened" ;)

It's cheap too! :)

Ha-ha, it is! If you get to order it, make sure to get "The Case For Christ" too... I just got mine, so I haven't read it quite yet, but after reading the other one, it should be a good one too. I think @ocap could give a better review than I can on that one.

I'll see if I can find it at Barnes and Noble

I think I'll get those books

you are right, we should not put restrictions on God's power. We are touching on "young earth" vs "old earth" controversy that can separate Christians. From what @Flock Master64 wrote, he was talking to a person who does not want God to exist and is trying to defend the possibility that the universe created itself. I am a "young earth" type, Adam was created a man not an embryo. I found out that the natural gas fields around McAlester, Oklahoma, USA are 23,000 feet below the surface, seems to me that God created those fields not decaying dinosaurs, at least I can't figure out an easy way for the dead animals to get that far down. God has the power to create the universe with a "Big Bang" or create it with "age (only 8000 years old appearing to be 15 billion years old)" and that opens the door to a great conversation because the Christian can pick either, the atheist has to pick the 15 billion year "luck" model.

Ohhh okay, that makes sense, thanks

I think we (humans) try to rationalize it away in our own way of thinking. We try to figure it out with very limited amount of brainpower lol, no offense to anyone. We just aren't capable of understanding the "how's". As soon as we think we've discovered the most we can, we find another entire puzzle instead of just a missing peice.

I give the flood credit for things buried that far down. 23,000 feet is drop in the hat to Gods wrath of burying all of creation in water and mud; also accounts for all the fossils buried together in mass graves, ahem, WASHED up together somewhere...

I always get a kick out of watching those videos of geologists talking about their "proof" from billions of years ago due to their old bones and "carbon dating" something that they have no idea what the atmosphere was even like back then, but mention that a piece of the ark was found right where the Bible said it would be, and nope, they think it's a mysterious caveman village or something. :p

I love those kinds of conversations, really gets my brain going as to how immensely creative and organized God is! The molecules, atoms, cells, microbes...our bodies, gravity, matter, atmosphere, pressure...what a remarkable feat!

Undeniable. There's only one excuse to not even just think for a second that the one and only living God created all of this.....

For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

I know God sees me and hears me.
He has shown his love for me everyday that I'm still alive and well. And to show that I know and love Him, I wanna share my testimony.
I suffered with a severe neck injury for over 10 years. Was taking morphine daily for 6 years. I had accepted that this was just my lot in life, but God saw it differently. I was sitting in my bedroom watching a program and someone asked for a prayer of healing. As I was praying for someone else to be healed for there knee, I felt a release in my neck. It was like someone ran there hand up the back of my neck and off the top of my head. It was as if something traveled up my neck and out top of my head and immediately my pain was gone! During my prayer I had not even thought of my own need as I was believing in healing for someone else. But, Jesus knew my need. As the next few days passed I came to a realization. We as humans sometimes feel defeated and unworthy, but we believe regardless. And, if we believe in healing or whatever the need may be for someone else then we in turn believe for ourselves. God is no respecter of persons. We are ALL His children. He cares for all of us. He only wants to hear from us. Like, a best friend, parent, spouse, if we never talk to them we miss that and grow apart. So, remember when your driving in your car, getting ready for your day, or going to bed at night just say a hello, a thank you or whatever you would say to connect with a loved one. Afterall, it's a relationship.

Wow, that is SO COOL!!! God is awesome :D

Absolutely... I was trying to explain that to the girls the other day and I was having a hard time with it; I was trying to convey how our "cup overflows" onto others. And I had a lesson just toss itself on my couch. The laundry. ;)

My youngest had responded to my request that she help me sort all the socks with this lovely statement, "I'm not a slave." Ohhhhh wow not the right thing to say lol :lau

I told her, "you want the truth? You ARE a servant, you WILL be a servant, and you will LEARN how to lovingly obey and graciously help others or your cup will remain empty. My whole duty in life is to serve others, and you will grow up one day and if you decide you want to be a Christian and maybe even a mother, you will find that out. Serving others is from our heart, not because we're forced to. Now fold the socks because you love your mom and want to spend good time with her, not because you feel like a slave."

Willingly spend our time, energy, and profit on another, and we will get that right back ;)
love it and love you guys I tell you what u might not reply much normally because I am not very good at getting my self across the way I see it in my head but you guys Rock!!

I been having problems not so much with my husband himself he been sweet and loving. But with my self or whether my thoughts trying to keep my thoughts from negative things like he just here because of some dumb reason that pops into my head or that he living a double life when I am not around (santans favorite or that I am a bad person) he likes using my emotions the butt. Anyways I read something of Facebook about how this family were going on vacation and the father tells his wife your never happy anymore. She couldnt deny it but looked in the back seat at her kids and saw her daughter mirrored her becssue anytime she was upset her daughter being a child assumed it was her. I remember that feeling as a little girl so much so at seven a nearly committed suicide but God stopped me long story but he did so I am here. I remember my parents fighting and I thought I was to blame. But it struck me as II get frustrated not finishing a task just like that mother. I don't always just enjoy they day and try to find what she said the flowers and instead of the weeds. I don't want my daughter to get to that same point. What I get done is what I get done but I going to make myself forget about worrying whether or not my husband telling me the truth because if he wasn't he wouldn't be here for one for two his Action don't matter mine do. The way I react the way i put my trust in God is what mstters God has me here for a reason why not sure but I am her I have my passions for a reason and working on the things I need to do but Its more Important that I stay in God's peace and joy then I need to have the house clean or the animals stalls clean or whatever needs to be done. I have two children that need emotional stability and be shown how to love more the the work that needs to be done. (My conclusion of the day) so no matter what I struggle with just like Paul I am going to be singing/praising God. That's my goal for now on.
