prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

How do you fail him daily?
This is not a trick question, but rather an honest open desire to know.

What if someone is able to not "sin" in any of these in a days time?

What's the point of being a christian if it's not possible?

I was taught that if past sins are forgiven they won't keep us out of heaven. Was I taught wrong?

I'm not particularly contesting any scripture, I however, do appreciate daily reasonable practice.
I also know that face to face conversation would be better.

If it's completely impossible to be pure in every way why be so foolish to even try?

I do believe the conversation can be kept public and civil because we are responsible adults.
In this case I'm not interested in pm's.
I'll respectfully :bow out.

There were some very good questions here, and those who asked deserve to have their questions answered, but unfortunately this is not the venue for those discussions.

It's not a matter of being responsible adults. It's a matter of respecting the wishes of those who asked that we keep the thread on topic, which is to keep it a prayer thread, not a discussion thread, so it doesn't get shut down. I apologize for my part in the hijacking. Let the prayers continue! :celebrate
I'll say this, I do agree, the thread is for prayer requests and the thread should stay pretty much on topic, but we are also here to share of ourselves, scripture, our lives, praises and sadness and grief. God and Christ are part of our sharing, and we are lifting up one another in pray to the Father to let ours and others requests be made known.

While a deep discussion, debate and interpretation of scripture does not fit into this thread, I do agree there's been some good questions asked. I don't think the question(s) from @troyer were asked to really debate scripture, but more of asking individuals about the statements they have made in previous posts.
We do have to abide by BYC rules and of course respect the wishes of those that participate on this thread too.

That said. @troyer
It's good to ask questions and to turn to the scriptures to find answers.
I certainly am not a Bible scholar and there's many things that I think of or read and must ponder upon them (some for a long time!), I dig deeper into scripture and even turn to trusted mentors, mature Christians, etc. to seek more guidance - even the internet can give some good results, just be careful of sources, statement missions, etc.
Commentary blogs can often give a thoughtful response to inquiries and give a starting point to dig more deeply into scriptures as well.

I fail daily. Christ died on the cross to cover my sins, through Him, I have repented and accepted His salvation - His perfect gift. When I do things that are wrong - for example - I'm harsh/unkind, selfish, lazy, etc., the Spirit convicts. I ask for forgiveness and try to do better - it's always going to be a struggle between sinful nature and the narrow way.

So, I've pondered your questions, I prayed and I searched. This is what I was led to, the link for the whole commentary is at the end.
I do hope this answers some questions and I also hope it leads you to more, so you thirst to know more about our Lord and Savior and to seek His face.

"""Jesus is the only One who has lived a perfect life, and it is through Him that we meet God’s standard. Rather than earning righteousness, we are declared righteous because of Christ. As Paul states,

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. (Romans 3:22-24, NLT)
Second Corinthians 5:21 further demonstrates the substitutionary atonement of Jesus: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Because we are made perfect through Christ, we should live accordingly. Our lives should exhibit God’s righteousness and holiness due to our identity as His people. Christ’s standard becomes a way of life as we obey His teachings. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we find the strength to love our enemies, uphold our relationships, overcome lust and hatred, and follow the other commands in Scripture.

In obeying the command to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect, we cannot lean on our own righteousness, which falls far short. We must rely on Christ and the working of the Holy Spirit within us. “‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” (Zechariah 4:6)."""

Are you saying that Jesus Christ was wrong in Matthew 25:31-46? He Himself says that the righteous will attain heaven specifically because of their good deeds in those very verses

Christ talks about the righteous attaining heaven and the wicked being damned to hell, but he doesn't say a single word about faith in these verses. Only actions

as I said before don't stick to a single verse. good deeds without faith are not enough.

Beautiful. To recognize we're not perfect. To not take for granted or to let His gift have happened in vain. To recognize the gift of the Holy Ghost during direction given. And to recognize that we are only human, that we will struggle through that narrow way. To ask for forgiveness and to try to be better every day. You've mentioned the very things He's asked of us. To try and follow the Commandments.
