I'm sorry - this is so difficult when this happens. It is so hard to watch a loved one deteriorate like this. Such a horrible disease. During lucid moments, my mom knew her mind was going as she would talk about it. Then a short time later, she wouldn't be able to speak a sentence as it came out garbled. So sad that we have to watch our parents / loved ones go through this. When I saw her on Sunday she knew that I was one of her favorite people but did not remember that I was her daughter or my name
Glad you had that, kiki.I talked to my mom at938am she sounded good
Still no surgery yet
and she knew who I was
So thankful for that
Thank you Lord

~~ when you pray and read / listen to the word
Yes, dementia is horrible to watch. It's so hard on the loved ones who care for those suffering from it. It takes a special kind of grace to walk this path. But we know Who provides that grace, don't we? We just have to lean on Him day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. One comfort for me is realizing that it's probably harder on the caregiver than on the patient in some ways. She lives in the moment. She doesn't realize she is asking the same question over and over. She doesn't know that person she doesn't recognize is her son. She is still very much herself, just the person she was 20, 40, 50 years ago.I'm sorry - this is so difficult when this happens. It is so hard to watch a loved one deteriorate like this. PrayingPlease pray for my mom 86 she fell and broke her shoulder and hip and having hip surgery today
Thank you Lord for guiding the hands that are helping my mom in Jesus name amen
Yes, agreed. It requires patience and more patience. We went through this with my mother-in-law. I simply would answer the same question 30 times as though she asked and I responded for the first time. One comfort for me is realizing that it's probably harder on the caregiver than on the patient in some ways.
