prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

My favorite soccer team just won the english premier league. Thought I'd share this awesome message one of their Christian players displayed after his goal and at the celebration after the game. It's wonderful to see people not afraid to show their faith to the world, especially since these kinds of displays are often discouraged in professional athletes. View attachment 4108888

At the cup ceremony today another player also displayed his faith. I was glad they won but really more happy to see this:

Galatians 2:20 KJV
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Amen. :)
Just as Christ died on the cross, believers, through faith and repentance, die to their old selves, their selfishness, and their sinful ways. This ~ death ~ is not a physical death but a spiritual transformation, a turning away from sin and a commitment to following Christ.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

By the grace of God, I'm trying to use this standard in choosing what to read, what to watch, what to put into my brain. I notice the very first item on this list is, "what is TRUE." That means all fiction should go out the window. I confess I'm not there yet, not with my reading anyway. But I've cut it out of my TV viewing. That's why I mostly watch cooking shows now, lol! I tried nature shows, but ... they're too violent for me. They are not "lovely," nor "of good report." As for my literature... I'm a work in progress.
