prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

If you think our gracious Father does not get involved in the minutia of an ordinary life, allow me to share a story.

This past week we have been caring for our ailing senior dog. We were presented with affirmation upon affirmation that it was time to set his soul free. We made the difficult decision to have him euthanized yesterday. Our hearts are shredded with grief.

On driving home we saw storm clouds and it was raining by the time we made it home - but we had time to tarp out the chicken run before the skies opened wide. We experienced a violent thunderstorm. The large tree next to the chicken run incurred damage and a large 50 foot limb cracked at the trunk and was hanging precariously over the run dangling in the wind, hanging on by a thin shred of wood. It was clearly going to fall on the run and crush the run like a tin can and perhaps damage the coop and the girls inside. It was up too high for us to do anything about it, not to mention heavily raining. With severe lightening, climbing a ladder was obviously out of the question. I prayed to God and His Angels that it would not fall until we could get a tree service out today to cut it down and to protect the chickens and keep the safe from harm.

A final check on the girls, they were ok. Weary and exhausted from the events of the day, as rain pelted my face and lightening cracked above and all around me, I sloshed my way through 4" of water back to the house to provide solace to our remaining grieving dog, convinced I would have another sleepless night worrying about the safety of the girls.

Inside, I placed an emergency call to a tree service, it was 8:00 PM.
I heard a strange noise, not unusual for this neighborhood and realized it was time to collect the food and water so back out into the storm I went. I discovered the limb had fallen (the strange sound I heard) and landed next to the run, only denting the one corner on its way down. I praised God profusely, relieved no real damage occurred. We tried to drag it out of the way as it was blocking the run door. Large and heavy, we mustered the energy to drag it out of the way. Tears of relief, gratitude, grief and exhaustion consumed me.

If you think God doesn't hear your pleas for help, your cries for mercy, your soul yearning for comfort, know this - HE DOES. He hears, He listens, He delivers, He provides, He comforts, He loves as only He knows how to do. He is a safe harbor, a haven in the storms of life, a refuge, a rock, steady and true. All you have to do is ask. He is waiting to hear from you / us.

Tears and sorrow may consume you at night, but there will be joy in the morning and the glorious sun will rise once again.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful testimony!

So I don't really know what's been going on here. I haven't had the time to check and keep up. But, I wanted to reach out. So obviously with everything going on in our world today, I'm actually pretty scared. See, my life has been really hard. I've got an extremely difficult past filled with lies, abuse, rejection, neglect, and hopelessness. I just wanted some prayer because I don't understand why God gave ME this life. I don't understand His plan and everything that I've suffered. But, I just wanted some prayer because I've decided to reopen my heart to Him, even though I don't understand what He's doing.
Hi Kaylee, welcome! First off, know that you are LOVED. Yeah, your life may be a mess. Join the club! Ain't nobody here has a beautiful, perfect life. But remember the story in the Bible when the disciples were in a boat in the middle of a storm and they thought they were going to sink? Where was Jesus? He was right in the boat with them. Was He scared? No, He was sleeping peacefully. We need to remember two things. 1. Jesus is always with us, right in the middle of our troubles and insanity. And 2. He's not scared! Why? Because with a simple word He can calm the most violent storm! So no matter what you're going through, TRUST HIM. He's got this. More important, He's got YOU. Nothing's going to happen that He's not in charge of. Read Psalm 46. We don't need to understand, Sister. We just need to trust. And see the amazing things He can do in our lives! And yes, we will pray for you. :hugs

praying for you.

only God knows his plans. don't bother asking the questions. BUT those who have smooth life should be worried. satan does not waste time with those who are not a threat to him.

Stop that! Jesus would have lived a sinless life, died the death He did, risen from the grave, ascended to the Father, and would be even now at the right hand of His Father, advocating for your salvation, if you were the ONLY ONE on the whole planet who would accept Him as your Savior! He died for YOU! He died for ME!

Why? Because we deserve it? NO! Because we NEED Him to!

You think you're a mess? You think you're a sinner, a loser? Move over, Sister, you got nothing on me. You don't know where I've been, what I've done. But it DOESN'T MATTER. Becuse Jesus came to save SINNERS. He LOVES us! He wants us to be in His kngdom with Him.

Look at it like this. You're walking down a fancy street and everywhere you look you see yards with expensive, purebed dogs. You can tell these dogs are loved. The yards are clean and well- kept. The dogs have been recently groomed. They have everythng they need. Shade, food, water, swimming pools, air conditioning. Professional dog walkers. These dogs are LOVED. Then you see a broken-down, starving, dirty stray. It's scared. It's been beaten. Its coat is matted. Its pads are bloody. It's lost and afraid. Doesn't your heart go out to it? Don't you want to take it in your arms, bind up its wounds, give it food, water, shelter, love, comfort?

That's how Jesus feels about us. He knows we're lost and afraid, beaten and bloody by Satan. He wants to comfort us and take us home. Not because of anything we can do for Him, but simply because His great heart of love knows what we need.

He loves you Kelsey. With a love as big as the universe. He stretched out His arms on the cross and said, I love you THIS MUCH!

Amen to that!!!!

I'm only a teenager in a really hard spot in life but I still wanted to reply. That is a very incredible story, Mrs. Rebecca. I've had a very hard life and I still don't know why God would choose me. But reading your story made me cry. There's a lot that I'm trying to figure out and it's incredible that you still choose to place your faith in God. I'm adopted so I just have a lot of questions to God that I can't understand. There's a lot of pain and scars that are on my heart. My parents are both believers and I see what they mean when they say I need good people in my life. Am I still welcome here? Can I still ask quesions? I loved reading your story and you are such a bright light to everyone around you.
