Geez, Shartlesville is literally right down the road from me. I hope everything turns out OK and he has the least amount of pain possible. Please drive carefully. We will all be thinking of you and DH.

Got up here about 5 pm. He looks bad, but not as bad as i was afraid of. His face is swollen on the right side. He has no cheekbone definition right now. Just a puffy mess from his temple to his jaw. He is having quick sharp headaches and he says his jaw doesn't feel like it's lining up properly. He also says he broke off some of his back teeth. His eye is 1/2 swollen shut and he can't open his mouth very much from the swelling and pain.

He said the doctors have told him he has 6 total fractures and his nasal passage is crushed. It's really hard to tell since it's all swollen. He also has pain if he tries to move his eye.

We will be looking for a surgical specialist to see how much surgery he needs if any. I would think they will want to at least rebuild his nose to support he muscles and tissue.

He is not permitted to be around or handle horses for the next 4 weeks. He is basically unemployed now. Supposedly the farm manager has said he will continue to get paid his salary at least for the next two weeks and " not to worry about the board bill". I told him until I get that from the OWNER's mouth, I'm not believing the farm manager - ESPECIALLY since it was she who put him in this situation because she asked him to handle these horses at the sale as "a favor" BECAUSE NO ONE would go in the stalls with them since they are so dangerous and violent.

Truely, no good deed goes unpunished.
