Prayers Please

I know this is a lot to ask, but when you send up your prayers tonight, can you send up a good word about my poor old kitty, Bashful. She is 17 years old and going in tomorrow to have her 2nd sarcoma surgery in 4 months. Other than this tumor returning, Bashful doesn't act like she is 17. Just today she was trying to remove my husbands toes because he wouldn't give her tuna. Honestly, I think she just likes to hear him scream, lol. She is very loving and has been with me through many of my lifes trials and tibulations. If she has to go, I would like it to be quiet and peacefully. She shows no sign of pain nor disease, as the "herd" of pussy cat just gallop past me, lol.

I pray she will be okay. It's always hard to lose a loved animal. Hopefully, it isn't life threatening.

Sorry your Bashful's not well. I had one with Sarcoma that made it 4 years past the terminal date from the vet, so do not lose hope.

My cats & I will keep her in our thoughts.

I know some folks will say, "it's just a cat". My in-laws told my DH to get rid of her and the other 2 so that we could move into an apartment. (she doesn't belive that an apartment is more expensive than my house payment) Get rid of her?! I had her 1 month less than I've had my DH!

Maybe just a cat, but she is my first born. I was there when she was born. Her momma held on until I got home from work to have her and her sister who I have also. She curls up on my feet at bed time to keep them warm. But only in the winter time. When the weather is warm, she wants to sleep on the airy front porch. When I sleep in, she wants too sleep in too and snuggle under the covers. When I work in the garden, you can count on her being close by some place watching over me. She'll come over from time to time and roll in the warm dirt. I'm only allowed to walk 2 houses away in either direction from our house without her chasing after me and fussing until I come back to my "safe zone".

Just a cat, no, I don't think so.

Poor sweetheart, having two surgeries in a matter of months. It sounds like you love her very deeply and I hope you get some more time with her thanks to this surgery. An animal is never just a "species"--they're all individuals who can mean just as much as a person to us, and anyone who doesn't understand needs to spend more time with animals!
