Hi so my dog helps keep away the predators from my coop but she is going to get fixed next month and then she needs time to heal so I am worried that animals will come try to kill all my chickens and she scared off a opossum last night that probably would have hurt them and I also have some five month old chicks out there so they might try to hurt them is there any way I can do something to keep them away I have no clue I just need someone to help me find out what to do

What sort of coop do you have? Can you close the flock in at night? Possums are nocturnal and generally want the eggs if not collected.

Is coup out in the open? How big is the area? Is it just at night your worried or day time too?
Where are you located?
Is it rural or urban?

Trail camera would be your best friend. At least you would be able to identify the predator.
