My husband thinks this window is too high off the ground to need hardware cloth. I disagree. I think it's about 8' up. What are your thoughts?

Looks closer to 6 ft up from the ground. It is possible for something to jump up and in if it were fully open. I would use some type of screen over the window if not hardware cloth to keep out birds of prey and nuisance birds..... Also to keep chickens inside if the need comes up.

In my experience, no window is too high off the ground to be predator proof. I would put 1/2 " hardware cloth over it.

Err on the side of caution. What would be the harm in installing hardware cloth? If you are concerned about aesthetics and the function of the window, frame a piece of hardware cloth and install it on the inside with hinges and a latch. Nice looking coop!
