we have LOTS of coyotes,fox,coopers hawks and the ONLY problem i have ever had is a young coopers hawk tried to take an adult hen and she was too big, of course, but it took me 2 hrs. to find where she had hidden. they chickens raise a fuss if there any raptors around now so i pay attention when i hear fussing. as for wandering dogs the neighbors KNOW and any k-9s that think of approaching my property have learned real quick (had to kill 2 beagle) or not. i love dogs but mine are well kept and any dog running amuk i consider unloved and i can protect my chicks.
