Does anyone have any ideas of what would take a bird and bring back bones and the tail? I set a live trap almost every night. I've caught a few possums and 2 coons (I haven't caught a coon since may). Whatever it was came back tonight and took a roo, killed a hen and left her. It brings back the carcass and leaves it in same spot each time under my coop. I actually got rid the first carcass it brought back last week and it brought it back again tonight along with another it took just a few days ago. (I walked the first roo maybe a quarter mile or so back on our property and got rid of him.) Any ideas of what im up against would help me tremendously, im tired of losing birds. Ill also add that it killed a rabbit through my rabbit hutch but it didn't eat him or take him because it couldn't pull him through the wire. Tia.

think I would focus on making my coop predator proof before it kills them all. Without pictures I haven't a clue what your set up needs or whats killing them.I don't know of any predator that carries a carcass around.Maybe a dog?
My coop is solid, it was getting them when they go in for the night. I free range my birds.

A predator would have been back to get the rest.I would ask around and see if I could find out who's got a new dog in the neighborhood. My neighbors poodle dogs played with their chickens until they trusted them then they killed them.
I only have 1 neighbor, we're way out in the country. And the only dogs around us are ours and my neighbors and they have tiny little dogs that won't leave their yard. Whatever it was was only taking the small ones. It ended up coming back and taking my last 3 small ones I had outside in one night. (We even kept watch but still somehow managed it miss it) it hasn't been back since. I have 2 small ones left and at this point they live in the house.
