Im going to get a camera over the coop so I can see what's going on and what is coming and going. And also, make sure there is no holes in fences on the coop side of the house.

Check this thread out. Best seeing I had was with camera sitting on ground. One of the critters of interest has a penchant for knocking camera over unless camera well secured. If you think some body is likely, then set timer for 1 minute between shots. Read with something other than the camera's default software so you can stream through images faster.

Yes they do attack during the day and evening, i had one fox attack in the afternoon took about 5 chickens and another time during dusk, both were shot one died and the other I think was only minorly injured and never came back. But my biggest predators is probably the raccoons they have taken several. What I have done to protect against them is have a secure coop above ground and trapping and killing them. Do you have dingo where your at they could be getting your chickens.

Where I am in Australia we dont have dingos but we have foxes, snakes, wild cats. Thats what I have seen so far. Ive only seen foxes at night so far.

Thats a great idea!

We have foxes. I haven't seen any near the house yet. Do they attack in the day?
I see them mostly at night on my game cameras but several years ago I had one dig under a gate of one of my pens during the day and kill some birds. I then put concrete under the gates.

Ive never seen them in the day here yet only at night. We did find a massive hole where something has been digging in our bushland we have on our property.

Do you have a game camera you can put up? That is how I found out what was killing my birds and since I have put netting over my pens, concrete under my gates and electric wire around my coops and pens and haven't had a loss since (yet) I did these things. I have a few game cameras in different places on my property and most every night I see usually coyote or fox. This is not a good camera. I have others that are better. A coyote early this morning.
