Predators what can i do about them and pests

why would mice and rats live with chickens

can i shoot any animals attacking or eating my chicken or their eggs

i know about wild life laws but how do i protect my chickens from birds my best guess is simple string or nets if you got the cash

Any other ideas

Mice and rats are attracted to the chicken feed! And may eat the eggs (havent experienced that yet... but have heard about it...)...

Where do you feed your chickens and where do you store your feed? If you don't have a dog running loose then poison them! But make sure you put the poison were the chickens can get into it!
