Predators

I have something getting my chickens through the outside of the coop, chicken is still on inside with backend eaten and sometimes head missing, what can this be and how can I prevent it from happening again, I have lost several chicken to this predator.

I'm so sorry! My guess would be a raccoon. What does your coop setup look like? Pictures would help.

It is a chain link fence with top on it, will have to get pics later.

So sorry as well. I would second the thought on the coon. They are notorious for sticking hands through things (such as chicken wire) and pulling chickens out in pieces. I had a neighbor that lost 6 7week old pullets in one night to a coon. After they changed their chicken wire to hardware cloth, the problem went away.
