A few weeks ago I purchased a prefab coop, which was way too small for 7 hens. So, I purchased a second and my son, a high school carpentry student went to work combining the two with improvements. They included, 1/2" hardware cloth on roof/run and removed dropping trays and replaced with plywood floor. 18" skirt of hardware cloth dug in, and a brand new, Fort Knox 10x8x7 run built, to include a roof and floor of 1/2 hardware cloth. It is now well ventilated, strong and sage. All to is make and hang pvc gutters. Here are the before and after photos. Another week or so and my girls, 7 Easter Eggers can move in.
Yesterday they enjoyed being out foraging in their portable chicken tractor.

Nice run, but I'm confused how the second coop shown(with the big run) is any bigger than the first one shown, it almost looks smaller<scratcheshead>

I was confused also but it looks like she doubled up the coop. The one circled in white is the original coop and the one in red is the add in.

I think.
