Pregnant and concerned about catching something from chickens

Congrats on your pregnancy and being proactive about being healthy!

Check with your doctor. Read as much as you can. Talk to as many people in your situation as you can to collect anecdotal evidence. Wash your hands and wear a dust mask when your know you're gong to be working with small air-borne particles (like cleaning out the future chicken tractor on a still-air morning/evening or working with soiled bedding. Treat scratches/cuts promptly.

Don't be overly worried, but take some reasonable precautions until you are satisfied with your level of knowledge about possible risks.

I'd sure think that common things like vaccuming daily, covering the couch with a duvet, washing hands and wiping muddy paws, etc. would be enough to isolate a healthy pregnant person from possible pathogens.
