Pregnant goats. First timers.

I grew up raising boar goats and the way we would check to see if they were close to kidding is to take your index finger and your middle finger and put them on each side of the goats tail and check to see how far apart they are we could usually get 2 finger widths on each side of the tail.

Also the way we would tell if they were preggo is to hold the tail up and feel the underside of the tail, if it is really soft and squishy they are preggo. You can tell a big difference if one that is preggo and one that isn't.

No kids yet! I think the dates are a little off. It took me forever to find a pygmy buck, not castrated, and without horns! So, I ended up getting a 3 month old buckling! I had to wait until he got older. Since he was so young and it's my first time with pregnant goats, I think it will be sometime around September, 27th with Lilly! Her ligaments feel gone though!? I have waited forever for these baby goats to be born!!!!

I do believe she is preggo but she is no where near kidding. She may be about 15-16 weeks. The udder will be a good bit larger than what hers is, hers has just started to grow. Keep us updated!

Goats are pregnant on average 150 days but they can go 5 days or 5 days late.

I think she'll be kidding soon. If the buck just pregnanted her at the end of may, then 16 weeks is right on the dot. Likely she's 17-18 weeks along, or even closer.

A lot of does will bag up a long time before kidding, but sometimes they will bag up 1-2 Hours after birth.
If there's no ligaments she'll probably go soon.
Of course, how long the buck was in matters, since 16 weeks would be the bare min,and no ligaments is a big sign they'll go soon.

Course, goats are brats, lol, and go on there terms.

Hey. Tell her your going out of town next week and pretend to go. Labor will start an hour after leaving

Lilly had white discharge 2 weeks ago. Every once in awhile I will see a little bit of white stuff on her vulva. Yesterday, Tilly had a little bit of brown stuff?
Lilly's ligaments feel like they come and go!

Tonight, I felt Lilly's lower belly, and it felt like something was moving to one side of her stomach to the other side? Could this be her kid(s) moving around inside her?
