Pregnant goats. First timers.

Thanks! I am from IL. Are you sure Tilly isn't pregnant? Lilly has been pawing for about 2 weeks. I have been watching them very closely! I've heard goats can let their milk down after they kid?  If Tilly isn't pregnant I will probably will let her kid in the Spring.

i dont think Tilly is Preggo. Esp if the buck has been trying to court her (sticking out leg, sticking out tounge, smelling her pee, checking out his 'equipment').
Yes, sometimes they'll let down their milk after they kid, but not all common. But not really uncommon. Just unusual. Natural though. And isn't something to worry about.

The no selenium thing is what killed our does kid. A lack of selenium can cause white muscle disease, which is essentially a death note (not always, but most of the time). So if you can get some (ask your feed store about it, Including the dose, we got ours in gel, which is what I'd reccomend) I'd give it to her ASAP just in case.
I mean, up to you, but that's what I'd reccomend.

Yep, would love to have updates when she has em

I will ask the vet about the Selenium. Is it normal for pregnant goats to lay around a lot? Also, about a month ago Lilly wasn't interested in her grain and any food I offered her except leaves. She only ate a little bit of her grain if I tried to make her eat it! She did this for about 3 days, and then started eating again! She's fine now. I didn't know if that is normal for them to act like that?

Yes, I will definitely let you all know when she kids!

Yes, it's normal. Just like women on their last trimester don't move around a lot

I wouldn't worry about the grain thing either. Sometimes if a goat is feeling a little off, they won't eat as much for a few days.

I'm looking forward to pics eventually!

I felt Lilly's ligaments today, and I am almost sure they are gone! Does this mean she could kid tonight?

Lilly has been laying in her shed all day, (She does like her shed though). She didn't want to be pet, (not normal). I offered her a leaf and she took it and walked off!

Thanks. So, does that mean she'll probably kid tonight? She doesn't have a full udder or any discharge?
