We experienced that one time with an accidental brother/sister mating.
Our Berkshire sow who has an average of 14, only had 4...real tiny. One boar had a herniated testicle. Inbreeding pigs is risky bizz.
We had to Palpate... That was the longest labor I ever witnessed. Dangerous as well. Is fine these days.

I have a pig and her name is Charlotte! She is pregnant but not sure how pregnant she is. She is showing alot of signs like nesting and not wanting to move much. She is still eating and drinking. Her vulva is swollen a bit her nipples have bagged out. Any signs I should watch for? Here is a pic of her. Please help.

The one i caught was dripping quite a lot while in labor. I don't try to expressit myself. I've learned to just watch and be patient. Pigs rarely have delivery problems. Two of mine just gave birth about a week ago. Two others have three month old piglets. They sure are cute. They look awfully helpless the first week or two. I'm always stressed until they plump up good. Try to prepare yourself that you may loose a couple. It's sad but not uncommon. And when they are born the mother doesn't clean them. They kind of flop around for a bit and then try to find a nipple. Some mothers stick like glue to them for the first week. Some leave them in a safe spot and do their own thing. Some are aggressively protective at first and some don't mind people they know messing with the babies. New mothers sometimes get stressed after birth and a strong beer or two can help relax them (no joke). Good luck!

Ok so recently( today) my pig has gotten aggressive toward the dog and my kids. Normally you can pet her and she lays there but she snapped at my kids hand. Sometimes she smells the dog and today she snapped and hissed at him. .. could this mean she is close to labor?

Yeah, they like to be left alone during delivery. Some don't like anyone or anything near their new piglets.

Well she has no milk. But she is bagged up you can see the individual teats. Her vulva is a little swollen not like gigantic or anything. She is very irritable. She still lives belly rubs :) changing positions a lot. Hasn't started nesting yet.. she will make her bed to just lay on right now

I've been surprised with piglets before. Just a waiting game. I'd keep the dog and children away from her for now.

So woke up today to her nesting really bad. She has been at it all day! She is peeing and pooping every 5 minutes. To the point now where there is no pop coming out anymore. She has white discharge coming out of her. She will not rest every time she lays down she gets back up...
