How cute they are! welcome to BYC!Hello! I am a PreK teacher who loves to hatch chicks in our incubator. In the past, I went through a co-op and always knew the breed I was getting. They now don't allow PreK classrooms to participate. This is actually fine because I am now working with Refuge Ranch. The only issue is that they have 8-10 different breeds I believe! They gave me 20 eggs, of which 7 hatched. I am now trying to figure out what they are! LOL Please help!
They all hatched this past week and are less than a week old in the pictures.
I'd also like to know sex if you can tell!
These are the 7 chicks:
- The first is black with a lighter color (gray?) on chest, three toes in front, and light feathering on legs which are black/orange.
- The second has a small yellow spot on the head, three toes in front, and light feathering on legs which are more orange.
- The third has a larger yellow spot on the head, three toes in front, and light feathering on orange legs.
- The fourth is yellow with longer feathers, three toes in front with much feathering on orange legs.
- The fifth is a lighter yellow with a dark shading (black?) on the back, three toes with feathering on black with yellow legs.
- The sixth is a brown with black stripes, three long toes, feathering on brownish legs.
- The seventh is tan/brown, it was the first to hatch so is oldest and is also smallest (a Silkie??), lots of feathering on legs that are brown/black speckled.
