So I have been collecting eggs this week for incubation. I just read that you should collect eggs 3x/day. Well I can't do that because I work 8-5. Anyway, if eggs are very warm inside the nesting box for several hours, then I cool them down, does that ruin their viability? I took them to my basement after I let them cool to my main house temp. Also, I figured my basement was around 60F. It's Actually 67-68F! Is that too warm to keep them for 6-7 days? The only other place I have is the fridge, and I think that's way too cold.
Thank you

It's fine, chickens manage to hatch in all sorts of strange conditions, this is fairly mild.
Ok, whew. I had that thought, but I work with fish, and a fluctuation of more than 1 or 2 degrees can ruin them! I guess I'm still in that mindset. Lol. Thank you!

Yikes. Remind not to try to breed fish. People can even hatch grocery store eggs sometimes and those eggs are weeks or months old and refrigerated.

Ok, thank you! I thought that's what most people did, but this is all new to me. I'm learning that everyone does things a little differently! I hope to set some eggs today or tomorrow!!!
I just leave mine on the kitchen counter next to the fridge in the egg carton. I get excellent hatches.

When I started my first hatch I left my eggs in the ducks nest until I was ready to hatch. 8/9 hatched! If you store them put the blunt side up to keep the yolk centered.
