Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

Her babies all came from me. She was wildly successful!
Agreed! The duck to drake ratio she ended up with is amazing. Plus they're all just absolutely gorgeous 💜 This must be the "year of the duck" for Calls as my ratio out of 6 Calls is the same (4 to 2). I'm planning on integrating the other 2 Calls (Miley & Maggie) and the lone Aussie Spot (Della) with Lylah's flock. I'm a little worried about it because Miley is just as sassy and bossy as Lylah. Even through a fence, they were not gentle with each other, so I imagine integration is going to be a slow process. I was hoping to get Maggie's wing fixed before starting the process.

I hope I have the same success rates this Spring! I can't wait. It's crazy how I'm already excited about hatching more Calls months away. Looks like you're going to have more gorgeous ducklings and I'd be so honored to hatch some

Blah haha. Not me.
I am over it for the year.

You hatched a lot this year didn't you? I remember your hatching thread and all of those adorable ducklings. I suppose the excitement could wear off after a FULL season of hatches, but for someone new to Calls, other than optimal health for all, all I want is more Calls (well some free housing would be something else to keep in mind 😊). What about the adorable little one in your profile picture? Are you keeping her? Did she join some mates that hatched after her?

I will gladly send eggs. Piles of eggs!

They are all together now in my outdoor brooder bus. It's been warm enough I haven't had to worry about having heat on them. 10 piling up together at night they stay warm.
Someone doesn't snatch them up and I grow them out who knows, I may get attached to that little cutie. But most likely no. I'm at 20..that's really my limit imo for the space I have.

Oh I never get tired of seeing them hatch and enjoying them when they are little. But all the separate brooders and places to clean and feed and water every day gets old.
Now that I understand. Before Spring I should probably look into having a few signs made with this reminder or possibly a forehead tattoo so I don't forget about this part. That's one more positive thing about a good broody/mama duck, but things rarely go perfectly as planned ☺️

Well ya gotta remember mine are confined. I can't let them roam about where I currently live. Makes a lot more work when they are doing all their eating drinking and pooping in a confined space.
