Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

That's Mason. He's a ham.
He loves him some babies but he is just a little clumsy. 🤪
Got to watch those big paws.
Aww. Mason’s very handsome! Do the ducklings ever try to follow him? My last batch had an obsession with my Sheltie and tried following him everywhere... He was afraid of them and would run away! He’s a klutz and wouldn’t notice sometimes, so he’d accidentally trip over them! His paws are miniature compared to Mason’s. :lau

I have not let him alone and loose with any of them long enough to know, but I'm sure they would.
I make him sit or lay down if he wants to see the babies. They're just too tiny if he steps on one it will be all over.

Yeah, that’s definitely understandable. He’s quite a big boy. Looks well behaved too! :)

My dog is on the smaller side and afraid of the ducklings! He grew up as a city dog and doesn’t understand country life! I got him as an 8 year old who had never seen a dux in his life! Just like @duluthralphie , my dog thinks that dux are vicious creatures out to get him! :p

This little black pied hatched but it doesn’t move much. Keeps putting its head under it and trying to burrow. I’m not sure what else to do. He seems pretty weak/exhausted. :fl

Nutri drench is all I know.
I had a pretty weak one too I got it to nibble some of that nutri drench and it was up and running the next day. Sometimes I think they're just exhausted from hatching.
Thanks I might try a small drop of nutridrench later. He took a long time to hatch and absorb so I think he might be exhausted. I was scared to give nutridrench because he can’t really support his little neck. I’ll be extremely careful not to aspirate him.
