Preset temperature on incubator V temperature and humidity meter

I recently bought two new incubators from an eBay store. I have now hatched out my second clutch of eggs. Both times I only got 7 chicks from 20 eggs and the last ones were very sticky. I bought a meter that reads temp and humidity and put it in the empty incubator and found that there was a wide temperature range difference. The incubator says 38' and the meter says over 50'. Now I am really confused! Which one is correct?? I appreciate any help I can get, cheers.

Welcome to BYC. Can you share the brand and model of both the incubator and the separate meter you are using? This will help in some basic ideas of the likely accuracy of each.

Hi, thanks for replying. The heat index monitor is "Digitech" and the incubator is "Janoel 24".
