He was one of my favorites too! Something grabbed him fast and ran out the barn. I will miss him

I am so sorry about your Pretty Boy. He was beautiful. I had to give my favorite rooster (my avatar pic) away about a month ago because he was too loud, and I just found out last week that him and all the other chickens where he was living were killed by a predator, they think hawks. It is heartbreaking

Yeah he would let me pick him up and touch his tail. I'm going to go to the Canfield and get more chickens. They ate the Wynadotte too. This thing is hungry. It ate 1 Jersey Giant 1 Black/Cochin mix 1 Rooster and 1 Wynadotte. My other favorite Fluffy is still alive. My cousin bought a trap a catch & release trap.

When are they disappearing? Daytime, night time? Is there anyway to keep your chickens in and the critter out of your barn? I think you're just going to be throwing money to the wind, buying more chickens before you beef up your security. If it's just grabbing and running, I'd guess coyote - they're pretty bold.

At night we gotta trap for it. The turkey protects the chickens but he wasn't in there at the time.
