Pretty sad that I am...maybe a problem with legs on one???

I am stuck to my incubator of course! ALL STINKING DAY AND ALMOST NOTHING!!!! I do have 4 that are pipped now but that's it! Two I can see inside the shell and one I am worried about. Is it normal for them to keep their beak in the same place?? I mean I thought they would be pecking around the shell to get out. This guy has just been sitting there breathing heavily with his beak out all day. He was the first one who pipped today. I am actually being patient for once b/c I haven't torn him open yet. But I have actually begun to wonder if I will have to. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me if he is acting normal or if I should be worried. I am really excited about all of my babies though. I will definately not get any stinking sleep tonight. And I am literally sore in my knees and hips from sitting on the hard ground all day:) My DH asked if I was going to sit glued to the bator all night or if he was actually going to get to talk to me:D I have been taking pics but I can't get a good one of my little one that I'm worried about. I'll check back in a little while, I'm going to go look at the little guy. For some reason it's a he in my head. Also I am sad to say thta I see nothing yet from any of the silkie eggs I originally purchased. I am hoping for an early Christmas present tommorrow.

I would just go to bed tonight and have a nice, refreshing sleep (hee hee) and not do anything with the one that has pipped and not turned but stays at the same hole. I imagine he will be out by morning. Didn't your Mom ever tell you "a watched pot never boils"?
Seriously, I wouldn't open the bator or help anyone yet. Try to think of something else or you will go as bonkers as I do when one is doing something like that, but if his beak is at the hole, he can breathe, and he will need humidity so the shell doesn't dry on him, so don't openthe bator. Where is your humidity? Good Luck.

OK I will wait but the humidity thing brings me to something else. My humidity was at 65% but I was afraid that my two that pipped early in the day, especially the one just sitting there, weren't getting enough air so I opened the vent holes. My humidity went down to 58-60%. Well THAT worried me as the other one that pipped early's membrane already looks all dried out:-( So I slightly opened the bator real quick and added another wet washcloth. I am now at 70-75%. Do you think I should be worried about the other guy whose membrane is all of the way white and dried out? Only a smidge of it is open though. Any how I might actually sleep a tinge if I can get over that. Thanks, I am hoping that tommorrow morning I have a ton of gorgeous babies!!! I have to take the kids to play practice ALL day! That will do me in if they are not all out.

p.s. we did not do school today:D The joys of homeschooling!

Well, nothing is ever perfect with a hatch--or it never is for me, but it sounds like things are about as good as one could hope for. I would see what everything looks like in the morning. Good Luck. Maybe some of our expert hatchers will get on here with further guidance.

I have babies, I have babies, yes I do, yes I do!!

I have 5 of my second generation sex links (what do you call them??) and one silkie (can you even believe it????)! I am loading the pics right now:) I might even have more after play practice tonight. Thank you all so much for keeping m efrom smashing my eggs agaisnt a wall to see what's inside:) I am SOOOOO glad that I sat on my hands. I couldn't sleep at all last night. I saw one that hatched at 1 pm and then I took some tylenol pm and slept until this morning when my sweetest facilitator of a husband woke me up to tell me there were now 4. He put his shorts on me, backwards I might add, since we had an overnight guest and pushed me down the hall since I was still "under the influence" of the pm's. And then I saw the most beautiful thing EVER, my babies' babies (big huge heart inserted here)! They are so pretty. They are mostly yellow but there is one that is red. My silkie is a splash I think. It's out of a pen of blues and splashes but I think it's going to be a whitish splash. You must give me your opinnions on the matter, I will add pics as they fluff out. I will be goe most of today so hopefully when I get home I will have at least one more silkie. Then, two Mondays from now, Dipsey's are scheduled to hatch!!!!

They are fun. Although I was really not having a good time the best two days. Thta is only b/c I am THE most impatient pwerson EVER!!!

Now, presenting Karri's babies:
