Pretty sure a raccoon tried to eat my duck through enclosure (graphic)

@Miss Lydia
Wound looks about the same but she is actually holding her wing up for longer periods of time. Got off work a little early tonight and am going to put her in the tub for a bath. I think after she's done and I drain water out of the tub I'll wash her wing feathers (what's left of them) with a tiny bit of blue dawn to try and get some of the residual cream off of feathers. Wound gets cleaned and dressed but I think the feathers need to be cleaned at this point. I'm pretty amazed at how well she is doing. Not sure if she will get complete functionality of her wing but it's looking darn good at this point.

After a bath. Decided against a the dawn at this time. Tissue nice and pink but I just don't know about that top portion. Time will tell I suppose. Hoping to see a little more granulation by this weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed. Was really wanting her to pull that pin the rest of the way. I initially had to cut the two "dangling" feathers, didn't want to hurt her more than I had to, that's why I cut the versus pulled them. One already came out.

What a sweet face. The wound looks good but it is going to take quite a while for it to heal, but to look as good as it does is awesome. Go ahead and cut the pin back some if you want it looks hollow. How is her appetite? She is very blessed to have you caring for her. Wasn't that amazing about @Sarkchick Guinea I tell ya they are amazing animals.

Thanks for update @malia

@Miss Lydia Her appetite is good. @Sarkchick's story was amazing and the fact that the guinea knew to come back home. "Brownie" is definitely feeling better and is now being a bit of a booger about sitting still when I need her to. I'm ok with that though.

I think the hardest part about this will be when she has recovered enough to go back outside, lol.

Yes you'll def want to keep her away from the chickens until she is fully healed they are like lil cannibals.

I am happy to hear she is feisty that means she is feeling alot better. Good news on Brownie.

The wound is staying clean. Still doing woundcare and antibiotics twice daily but I think that top tendon/muscle/tissue has died or is dying. No infection, doesn't smell. I'm guessing it will slough off. I have no clue.

Looks very clean your doing a great job as for what this will do as it continues to heal is any ones guess at this point, but I really think she is one the road to recovery. I'd get some probiotics to add to her drinking water once you stop the antibiotics to get her gut flora back in good running order. She still doing her own wing therapy?

@Miss Lydia I had been thinking about probiotics and when to start giving them. Makes since to give after stopping antibiotics. Not sure how long to keep her on antibiotics though. She won't have full use of her wing but I'm thinking at least 60-70% functioning. I am still alternating wrapping her wing to her body as well. Every other to every third dressing change. She is definitely on the mend at this point.

Isn't it usually around 10-14 days for antibiotics

I tell ya it's just amazing at how bad she was wounded and to be doing so well and to get any movement back in that wing They are really something. And having such good care makes all the difference in how well she has progressed.

@Miss Lydia ok, so the part of the wound that I thought was dying off, did. I have been doing dressing changes once a day now for the past three days. Tonight I let her have a bath and she took it upon herself to rip the dead portion off(was pretty sure it was ether a muscle or tendon). Really grossed me out too. Guess I'll be doing dressing changes forever. I had been putting santyl ointment(enzymatic debridement that doesn't harm granulating tissue) on the last three nights as well. So now I get to figure out how and what to dress new wound with. She is doing really well and no infection so far, I can't really complain.
