prevent broodiness in silkies

Does hot weather encourage broodiness? My slikie has been laying regualry this spring. This past week summer has hit and now she seems to be going broody. Just wonderd if the heat has anything to do with it.

Not really, though more hens brood in warm weather than cold. Silkies go broody at the drop of a hat, normally. It's their thing. They're broody more than they're laying, it seems. That's one reason, other than not liking their looks, that I don't have any. I don't mind a once a year broody, but serial broodies are not what I want.

Agree. They definitely go broody anytime..

Seems like once one goes broody, everyone follows suite (the silkies).
