Price for A dozen of eggs...

I'm selling mine for $2/dozen but that's with pullet eggs mixed with large eggs. I have one guy that comes by about every 1 to 2 weeks and buys 10 dozen at a time. This past Saturday he came and bought his 10 dozen and then later came back with a bunch of cartons (always brings me any cartons he comes up with) and wanted 2 dozen more and I gave those to him, he still gave my son a dollar when I had gone back into the house.

At work I would give away 1/2 dozen for free during the Spring when I had a ton extra. Most of those people wanted more, so it was easy to get up to $4 and $5 per dozen.

Look for people that will buy they regularly (like weekly on a specific day) and give them a little discount. Have them also bring the cartons back.

Also, show them pictures of your super happy and healthy hens. That really helps close the deal!

OMG! Are you kidding me
Who in their right mind would pay 5 bucks for a dozen eggs. That is absolutely insane. I charge 2 for mine maybe I should be charging more who knows.

People who like REALLY fresh eggs from super happy chickens that are delivered to them on a consistent basis... especially in the heart of Silicone Valley where there aren't a lot of BackYardChickens (yet).

I actually had more customers than I supply (another good situation for higher prices is where demand outpaces supply)!

There are people who will pay extra just because your chickens or ducks are not stuck in cages all day. I have a waiting list for "cruelty-free" eggs and I don't even have my ducks yet! LOL

I'm selling mine for $3.00 a dozen. There's no way I can keep up with demand, my 14 hens are only giving between eight and ten eggs a day (I think I've got three slackers out there who haven't laid yet). This spring they should really pick up, but even then my clients, who are buying the eggs now, outnumber the potential dozens I'll have for sale! Now I'm really considering upping the number of hens I have.
