My Barred Rocks starting laying about a month ago and tonight I did not make it out to the coop to get the eggs until after dark. The temps are below freezing and the eggs feel frozen to me. Will they still be ok?

Edited to add: The temp is about 30...maybe the egg is just really cold and it feels frozen.

as long as the shell is not cracked they'll be fine.

Chances are they are not frozen anyway (frozen eggs generally crack) just really cold... I mean it is not like you can tell whether they're no longer squishy inside

(Well I suppose maybe if it was a really really soft-shelled egg... LOL)

(e.t.a. - I forget offhand what temperature egg whites/yolks freeze at, but it is significantly below freezing, somewhere in the mid to high 20s F I believe)

Have fun,

Pat
